TAFE Gippsland has appointed Holly Perriam as Director of the Victorian Renewable Energy TAFE Centre of Excellence, a key milestone in establishing one of Australia's leading renewable energy training initiatives.
Commencing on 27 July 2026, Holly will lead the Centre's work to develop the skilled workforce needed to support the transition to a clean energy future. Based in Gippsland and delivered in partnership with the Victorian TAFE Network, the Centre will work with industry to develop innovative training solutions for renewable energy generation, transmission, storage and the broader Energy Supply Industry.
This includes digitally enabled learning environments, virtual reality technologies, research and innovation capability, and access to large-scale renewable energy training equipment.
TAFE Gippsland Chief Executive Officer James Montgomery said Holly's appointment brings deep expertise in workforce planning, skills development and stakeholder engagement.
"Holly has an outstanding reputation as a great partner who understands the different perspectives across government, industry and vocational education, and a strong understanding of the workforce opportunities and challenges associated with the energy transition," Mr Montgomery said.
"The Centre of Excellence will play an important role in ensuring industry and communities have access to the skills needed for the jobs of the future, and Holly is exceptionally well placed to lead that work."
Holly joins TAFE Gippsland from the Victorian Skills Authority, where she leads the Clean Economy portfolio and the development of the VET Certificates in Renewable Energy.
She has also held leadership roles with the Latrobe Valley Authority and Community College Gippsland. Ms Perriam said the Centre presents a significant opportunity for Gippsland and Victoria.
"The energy transition is creating new opportunities for workers, industry and communities. The Centre will bring together industry, government and the TAFE Network to develop training that responds to workforce needs and helps people access the jobs of tomorrow," she said.
The Victorian Renewable Energy TAFE Centre of Excellence is supported through the National Skills Agreement between the Victorian and Australian Governments and forms part of a national investment in workforce development for emerging industries.
