About this course

Do you want to learn more about your culture and have fun creating art?
Explore your own culture with hands on projects. As part of our project work, we will help you to improve your reading, writing, study and job ready skills.
During this two-year program, you will learn the basics of drawing, painting and simple art pieces. It is a great way to start exploring art.

Explore your culture and community and while developing your personal strengths, connections language literacy and numeracy.
You will also develop vocational skills as you move through the levels, with electives options available from a variety of arts areas.
Gain an understanding of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander identity and contribute to a community project learning time management, teamwork skills and basic workplace health and safety.

Career Opportunities

The job roles that relate to this qualification may include-
- Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Community Arts Workshop Assistant
- Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Studio Assistant.
It also provides
- A pathway to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander artist, crafting and design job roles.
- Pathways into pre-employment training, further study and work in cultural arts environments within Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander communities.
