ATTENTION: As much as we’d love to offer more, we can only offer one Free TAFE course per person. If you’ve already enrolled and commenced, or enrolled but didn’t complete a Free TAFE course at any Victorian TAFE in the past you will NOT be eligible for another and will need to pay tuition and materials fees when you enrol. Successfully completing your Certificate II in Automotive Vocational Preparation will give you the base knowledge to work in the broader industry as a trade’s assistant, vehicle service assistant, automotive trainee, and a range of other entry-level positions.
Times8:00am to 4:30pm Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays plus recommended 1 day each week work placement in the Automotive industry.
Qualifications and RecognitionUpon successful completion of this course students will be eligible to receive the Certificate II in Automotive Vocational Preparation.
Assist with gaining employment as an apprentice in automotive workshops and or dealerships as an automotive technician.
Opportunities for Further Study
The AUR20716 Pre Vocational qualification can lead to the use of units in the AUR Training Packages includes higher level qualifications which including Cert III, IV and Diplomas.
Mandatory entry requirements
- 17 years of age with a sufficient completion of a language literacy and numeracy assessment
Recommended entry requirements
- Completion of year ten secondary studies,
- Work placement (to be arranged by student)

- Insufficient completion of a language literacy and numeracy assessment.
