Course Overview
Get into the nitty-gritty of light vehicle mechanics and get your hands dirty with a Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology. In this course, you’ll learn to inspect and service engines, transmissions, suspensions, steering, brakes and electrical components. You’ll open doors in the automotive industry with new skills and knowledge in both broad and specific applications!
If you’re looking to work in the light vehicle industry, or you already have employment but would like to upskill yourself, this is the course for you. You’ll develop safe working practices and awareness of fast-paced environments where you develop solutions for complicated problems.
The Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology will prepare you for the next step in the automotive servicing industry, so get ready to start your engines!
Times
Yallourn Campus (Block Release)
One block release of 3 consecutive days Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday per month. Class times are from 8:00am to 4:30pm.
Warragul Campus
Class is one day per week, Tuesday or Thursday. Class times are from 8:00am to 4:30pm.
Leongatha Campus
Class is one day per week, Tuesday or Friday. Class times are from 8:00am to 4:30pm
Bairnsdale
Class is one day per week Wednesday or Thursday. Class times are from 8:00am to 4:30pm.
Sale (Fulham) (Block Release)
One block release of 3 consecutive days Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday per month. Class times are from 8:00am to 4:30pm.
Transport to training facility must be arranged by the student.
Qualifications and Recognition
Upon successful completion of this course students will be eligible to receive the Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology (Apprenticeship).Career Opportunities
Employment in automotive light vehicle workshops and/or dealerships as a qualified light vehicle technician.

- Registered and employed as an apprentice. with a completion of a language literacy and numeracy assessments
Recommended entry requirements
- Completion of year ten secondary studies, 16 years of age with a sufficient completion of a language literacy and numeracy assessment.
