Course Overview

ATTENTION: As much as we’d love to offer more, we can only offer one Free TAFE course per person. If you’ve already enrolled and commenced, or enrolled but didn’t complete a Free TAFE course at any Victorian TAFE in the past you will NOT be eligible for another and will need to pay tuition and materials fees when you enrol. A Certificate IV in Plumbing and Services is a flexible qualification that will work to take you where you want to go. If you’re a registered plumber and you want to obtain further qualifications, there are many options available to ensure you reach your goals without sacrificing your work schedule. Expand your skillset by choosing which area of plumbing you’d like to focus on!

There is the possibility of government funding for this course, so enquire with us online. Possible occupations that could open up to you after completion of this qualification include plumbing contractor, fire services supervisor, air conditioning technician, specialist hydraulic designer, and more. You’ll open many doorways when you complete this comprehensive course.

There are three options available for this course.

1. Certificate IV in Plumbing
A registered plumber who wants to obtain the Certificate IV in Plumbing: Operations stream would complete this delivery option. This qualification also fulfils the requirements issued by the Victorian Building Authority for licensing in different areas of plumbing. A registered plumber is usually eligible to receive government funding to complete the desired units of competency for each licensing area.

2. Victorian building authority licensing requirements (government funded)
A registered plumber that wants to become licensed in different areas of plumbing described by the Victorian Building Authority will select units depending on what area they need/want to be licensed in. A registered plumber is usually eligible to receive government funding to complete the desired units of competency for each licensing area

Units of competency are delivered per unit in a class environment.

3. Short course Victorian Building Authority licensing requirements (NOT government funded)
A registered plumber that wants to become licensed in different areas of plumbing described by the Victorian Building Authority will select units depending on what area they need/want to be licensed in. A registered plumber would NOT receive government funding to complete the desired units of competency for each licensing area, they would need to pay fee for service to complete these short course options

Units of competency are delivered per unit in a class environment.

Qualifications and Recognition

Upon successful completion of this course students will be eligible to receive the Certificate IV in Plumbing and Services.
