Want a career that sees you make a difference in someone’s life? Get qualified to work with people experience alcohol and drug dependency.
This face-to-face course will give you the skills to provide services and interventions to clients with alcohol and other drug (AOD) in an entry-level role in the sector.
The role of an AOD worker is diverse and offers many exciting and challenging career opportunities including outreach work, case work, support work and rehabilitation.
To complete this qualification, you will be required to undertake the following unit of competency HLTAID003 Provide First Aid. No placement is required for this course.

Are there specified requirements for entry into the course/qualification?: Yes

Mandatory entry requirements:

Applicants must complete a Language, Literacy and Numeracy test as well as a Pre-Training Review to determine whether they are suitable for this course. Applicants then must undertake an interview and also meet the below requirements:
Year 11 pass or mature age
You must have access to suitable technology and have high computer literacy.

Recommended entry Requirements:

Clear Police and Working with Children Check
Suitable internet connectivity
Suitable technology e.g computer, video capabilities

Limitations to course Entry:

Disclosable outcomes on a police check.
