About this course
Designed for those wishing to work in a range of community settings and client homes in the disability sector, this course will give you the skills to support in a manner that empowers people living with disability to foster independence, self-reliance, community participation and wellbeing.
Learn how to work within a health and welfare disability framework in community settings and in clients’ homes, likely without direct supervision. There may be opportunities to manage or supervise staff as part of this rewarding career in a high-demand field.

Mandatory entry requirements:
In order to undertake student placement, if the organisation is a NDIS funding you will be required to obtain a NDIS Worker Screening Check as a requirement for student placement. This will cost in excess of $130.00
Completion of: CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability)
OR
Completion of: CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability)
OR
Completion of: CHC30408 Certificate III in Disability PLUS the CHCSS00125 Entry to Certificate IV in Disability Support Skill Set.
As evidenced by a copy of your transcript or certificate
Recommended entry Requirements:
Applicants must complete a Language, Literacy and Numeracy test as well as a Pre-Training Review to determine whether they are suitable for this course.
Applicants must undertake an interview and meet the below industry requirements:
Clear Police and Working with Children Check as well as a NDIS Worker Screening check.
Limitations to course Entry:
Must have completed the Cert III pre-requisite (see mandatory requirements).

Qualifications and Recognition - 2026
Upon successful completion of this course students will be eligible to receive the Certificate IV in Disability Support.
