Times
Term 1 - face to face classes Monday, Wednesday, 9:00am to 3:00pm. Online day Fridays
Term 2 - face to face classes Monday, Wednesday, 9:00am to 3:00pm. Online day Fridays
Term 3 - face to face classes Monday, Wednesday 9:00am to 3:00pm
Term 4 - face to face classes Wednesday, 9:00am to 3:00pm, then Monday massage clinic 8:30am to 3:30pm
Qualifications and Recognition
Upon successful completion of this course students will be eligible to receive the Certificate IV in Massage Therapy Practice.Career Opportunities
A Massage Therapist (MT) may be self-employed or work within a larger health service organisation along side other heath professionals. They would have a limited ability to have health rebate for health providers and work in conjunction with other health care professionals. They will have the ability to upskill and complete the Diploma of Remedial massage in a shortened time frame due to credit transfers of 13 units into the course. This Certificate IV qualification reflects the role of Massage Therapists (MT) who would provide general health maintenance treatments referring to the musculoskeletal system. It does not reflect the role of a Remedial Massage Therapist

Recommended entry requirements
- Must be 18 years of age due to the practical component of the course where students learn to massage treating other students within the course and the public.
Limitations to entry
- Physical health is required as this job is highly demanding on the body. You will be required to stand on your feet for upwards of 8hrs a day while treating in the simulated student clinic and in industry. Student must be able to hold ^5kgs, bend knees, kneel on the ground for lengths of time to conduct CPR.

Student Massage Clinic runs on TAFE Gippsland Traralgon Campus to the public, running one day a week for eight weeksPlacement is arranged by: Institute
