Course Overview

If you’re already working in the education industry and you’d like to take your career to the next level, a Diploma of School Age Education and Care will be perfect for you. The demand for diploma-trained workers is increasing dramatically, so now is the right time to upskill in this area.

With this qualification, you’ll be able to take responsibility for running before and after school care programs or vacation care programs for school children. You’ll create fun, safe and educational environments for children, supervise staff and volunteers, and maintain all regulatory and compliance requirements. Mandatory entry requirements

  • Students must obtain a police check and working with children's check to be eligible to work in industry.

Recommended entry requirements

  • Early Childhood services will not hire anyone under the age of 18. This information is relayed to prospective students during the enrolment process. Recommendation is that students should be a minimum 17 years of age to undertake the course.

Limitations to entry

  • Students must be working in industry in some capacity.

Course Cost

VET Student Loans

VET Student Loans are available to assist eligible students studying higher level vocational education and training (VET) qualifications to pay their tuition fees. Higher level VET qualifications are at those at a Diploma level and above. VET Student loans are capped at a maximum for each approved course of study and the amount of the loan cannot be greater than your remaining FEE-HELP balance. If eligible for a student loan, you can access up to $10150 to help cover the tuition fees for this course.
