Course Overview
Everyone doing construction work is required to complete construction induction training. This course is aimed at prospective and new workers who are or will be required to carry out construction work. An employer must accept a Victorian Construction Induction Card which will allow you into the premises of a worksite.
In this course, you will learn the basic principles of occupational health and safety requirements and preventing workplace injuries. On successful completion, you may request a Certificate of Completion (Interim), which is valid for 60 days from the date of training. A Construction Induction Card will be directly issued to you by WorkSafe Victoria.

- Health and safety committees
- Worksafe inspectors powers
- Workplace behaviour
- Proof of training and competency
- Hazards and risk assessments
- Safe work method statement/job safety analysis, acts, regulations, codes of practice and industry standards.

To participate in this short-course, participants need to have adequate English language skills in order to be able to comprehend, write, and provide written/verbal responses to questions. It is a Worksafe Victoria directive that interpreters or electronic or personal translator apps or devices must not be used. By enrolling in this course, participants agree and understand that refunds or transfers will not be given to those who do not meet the required literacy skills to successfully complete this course.

Limitations to entry
A foundation skill for the CI Unit of Competency CPCCWHS1001 requires an attendee to have reading skills to follow simple safety instructions that are written in English.
