Course Overview

If you’re currently working through an electrical apprenticeship and want to take your studies one step further, a Certificate IV in Electrical Instrumentation will open new doors for you.

Expand your skills in the field of electrical instrumentation through a number of theoretical, practical and online resources as you become a leader in your industry.

You’ll learn how to select, install, set up, test, fault find, repair and maintain electrical systems and equipment in construction and building sites.

Taught over a six-month period, this bridging course is designed to add extra skills to your studies, making you a highly sought after tradesperson and increasing your chances of employment.

You’ll be guided by our expert teachers in a hands-on environment, giving you practical experience so you can put your new skills into action almost immediately. We’re also here to make sure you feel supported every step of the way.

And once you complete this course, you’ll be able to become a qualified electrician with specialised skills. You’ll also be able to transfer to the Certificate III Instrumentation & Control to take your career even further!

But don’t worry, we will be here to walk you through all of those decisions when the time comes.

So if you’re looking to get something extra out of your studies and add a few more skills to your toolkit, a Certificate IV in Electrical Instrumentation is the perfect course to help open many new doors and career opportunities.

ATTENTION: As much as we’d love to offer more, we can only offer one Free TAFE course per person. If you’ve already enrolled and commenced, or enrolled but didn’t complete a Free TAFE course at any Victorian TAFE in the past you will NOT be eligible for another and will need to pay tuition and materials fees when you enrol. Qualifications and Recognition

Upon successful completion of this course students will be eligible to receive the Certificate IV in Electrical - Instrumentation.

Career Opportunities

Become a licensed electrician; complete the theory component of the Electrical Instrumentation qualification (UEE31211)

Opportunities for Further Study

  • Upon successful completion of this bridging course, the student will be transferred to the Certificate III UEE31211 Instrumentation & Control.

  • Passed level 4 LLN

Recommended entry requirements

  • Students entering this training have previously completed a UEE30811 Certificate III in Electrotechnology prior to undertaking the remaining units from this Certificate IV
