This qualification reflects the role of a skilled operator working in Civil construction, who applies a broad range of skills in a varied work context, using some discretion and judgement and relevant theoretical knowledge.
TimesTrainees are generally scheduled to attend classes on a monthly basis, 8am to 4pm. For example, East-Gippsland based trainees may be scheduled to attend the Bairnsdale Campus monthly on a Monday, whilst Central Gippsland based trainees may attend the Yallourn Campus on a Tuesday. The trainer is generally available to trainees via phone/email on the non-scheduled days. Regular workplace visits are also scheduled in order for the trainer to monitor progress of training and to undertake workplace observation of practical competencies.
Qualifications and RecognitionUpon successful completion of this course students will be eligible to receive the Certificate III in Civil Construction (Traineeship).
Road Construction Workers operate specialised plant and machinery to construct new roads, and to improve existing ones.

Limitations to entry
- Enrolment into RII30915 Certificate III in Civil Construction (Stream 4) is limited to trainees with a current contract of training. Employer and trainee will nominate TAFE Gippsland as the place of learning (RTO).
