About this course

Want to be on point with your everyday makeup looks, as well as learn specialised techniques including bridal, photography, creative makeup, airbrushing effects and camouflage make-up applications?
Our Certificate III in Make-up, delivered three days a week over a 37-week period at our Traralgon Campus, will allow you to put your new skills into practice both in and out of the classroom, increasing your confidence and boosting your employment opportunities.

Unleash your creativity and fine tune your make-up artistry skills with our Certificate III in Make-Up course.
Led by our specialist make-up educator Alarna Bell, this course takes you step-by-step through designing and applying everyday makeup looks, as well as specialised techniques including bridal, photography, creative makeup, airbrushing effects and camouflage make-up applications.
You’ll also learn basic hairstyling and eyelash extensions. We have also added social media and marketing skills to this course to create the complete package!
If it's your dream to work as a qualified make-up artist in a hairdressing or beauty salon or work freelance doing hair and make-up for weddings, special occasions, editorial work and TV or film, this practical course is for you.

Skills or Knowledge gained

Obtain skills in all aspects of make-up application - including day make-up, evening looks, camouflage, airbrushing, fashion, bridal and creative.
Due to industry demand this course now includes basic hairstyling units. You will learn how to blow-wave, style and create braided hair looks for clients to complement their make-up design. Further, you'll learn an array of skills is eyelash extensions.
You will also learn how to promote a personal services business and use social media tools to grow your make-up business along with core service skills related to working within a beauty salon. These core skills include reception duties, salon communication and workplace health and safety.

Entry Requirements

Are there specified requirements for entry into the course/qualification?: Yes

Mandatory entry requirements:

-16 years of age.
-Applicants are required to have an appropriate level of language, literacy and numeracy skills, which will be evaluated prior to course intake. Pre Training Review and interview will be required prior to enrolment.
-All assessments are mandatory to be completed on "live" models. It is the responsibility of the student to organise models for all practical assessments.

Recommended entry Requirements:

Learners with excellent people skills and a genuine interest in the Make-up and Beauty Industry.
