About this course
Got your sights set on a career as automotive light vehicle mechanic?
The Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology’s model of day release is available to apprentices who are currently employed in the automotive industry to attend a TAFE Gippsland campus one day per week.
Only offered through an apprenticeship, you will learn how to how to service, repair and diagnose faults in motor vehicles weighing up to 4.5 tonnes.
If you’re seeking the skills to diagnose service and repair faults in light vehicle engines, transmissions, suspensions, steering, brakes and electrical systems and components, a Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology will get you there.
Career Opportunities
Employment in automotive light vehicle workshops and/or dealerships as a qualified light vehicle technician.

This qualification is made up of 36 units of competency which covers the skill and Knowledge required to perform a broad range of service and repair tasks within the Light vehicle industry
