Course Overview
Are you looking to break into the hairdressing industry but are not employed by a salon? Good news! This course allows you to enrol directly into a hairdressing course, without already being employed in the sector.
In the Certificate III in Hairdressing (Non-Apprenticeship) you will learn the skills and knowledge to gain work as a qualified hairdresser, showcasing your creativity and helping your clients to be the best version of themselves.
You will learn cutting, colouring and finishing techniques for male and female clients, communicating in the workplace, consulting with clients, selling products and services and designing and applying a broad range of technical hairdressing services.
Taught on campus in 9am-4pm blocks, two days a week, you will have less time in the classroom and more time putting all your new skills into practice! This will help you gain confidence and increase your future employment opportunities.
And because we value your learning, you will develop your skills through the world-renowned training resources of Pivot Point Academy. You’ll also have additional flexibility of our Pivot Point resources online, giving you the opportunity to access resources 24/7 either on campus, in the salon or at home.
Some of those career opportunities might be working as a qualified hairdresser, a senior stylist, or even a senior hair stylist in the film and television industry!
You’ll also be eligible to take your career further by studying a Certificate IV in Hairdressing (not offered at TAFE Gippsland), a Diploma of Salon Management (not offered at TAFE Gippsland), or a Graduate Certificate in Hairdressing Creative Leadership (not offered at TAFE Gippsland), and we’ll be here to work with you in making those decisions if the time comes.
So, if you’re looking to enter the hair and beauty industry and get the leg up you need to gain employment in a salon, then the Certificate III in Hairdressing (Non-Apprenticeship) is the perfect course to help you get to where you want to be.
