Course Description

The Construction Induction Card or commonly known as a 'White Card', is an essential feature of construction work in Australia, providing general induction safety training for workers. This includes managers, supervisors, surveyors, labourers and tradespeople, as well as others with less regular need to access construction sites.

The unit meets the requirements of General Induction Training as outlined by The National Code of Practice for Induction for Construction Work (2007). The unit equips candidates with the necessary knowledge and skills to safely enter construction sites.

Qualifications and Recognition

Upon completion of this course students will receive a Statement of Attainment. A licence to perform High Risk Work is issued by WorkSafe Victoria. On successful completion of this course, you can apply to WorkSafe Victoria for a license to perform high risk work. There is a fee payable to WorkSafe for a High Risk Licence. Career Opportunities

This course provides the prerequisite for accessing a Construction Induction Card, also known as a White Card. On successful completion you will receive a Statement of Attainment. TAFE Gippsland will lodge a request for a Construction Induction Card with WorkSafe Victoria and the card will be directly issued to you by WorkSafe Victoria.

Mandatory entry requirements:

You will be required to provide photographic ID to the trainer on the day of the course as a requirement of WorkSafe Victoria.

Limitations to entry:
To participate in this short-course, participants need to have adequate English language skills in order to be able to comprehend, write, and provide written and verbal responses to questions. By enrolling in this course, participants agree and understand that refunds or transfers will not be given to those who do not meet the required literacy skills to successfully complete this course.
