About this course

The Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) Skill Set will give you specialised skills to recognise and work effectively with clients who experience alcohol and/or other drug issues. This course includes the four AOD skills set units and will be delivered to industry groups. Industry groups are seeking staff to undertake this qualification within the first year of employment or to ideally have this qualification prior to being employed.

This course includes the four AOD skills set units and will be delivered to industry groups.
It will equip you with the skills to:
- Assess client needs
- Provide interventions, such as motivational interviewing and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT)
- Develop treatment plans
- Work in the AOD sector.
