About this course

Designed to let you learn while you work in the agriculture field of your choice, you can take full advantage of your studies with our Diploma of Agriculture.
Suitable for farm managers, employees and sole operators of agribusinesses who provide production advice and services to agricultural production enterprises, you will have access to training in vital agricultural skills encompassing business, human resources, agronomy, animal husbandry and whole farm planning.
Get the skills and to work autonomously, analyse information and exercise judgement to complete a range of advanced skilled activities.

You’ll learn through case studies, peer-to-peer learning and real-life experiences with this practical, flexible course.
This qualification will allow you to take personal responsibility and exercise autonomy in undertaking complex work, analysing information and exercising judgement to complete a range of advanced skilled activities.

Skills or Knowledge gained

This qualification will teach participants skills and knowledge in the specialist fields for planning and managing operational aspects of livestock health and production, on-farm production, business, pasture based agronomy, enterprise infrastructure as well as industry leadership skills.

Mandatory entry requirements:

Students need to have access to an agricultural enterprise to support their assessment completion.

Recommended entry Requirements:

Students are strongly recommended to have completed AHC40116 Certificate IV in Agriculture and / or have past equivalent experience on farms or in a related businesses. It is highly desirable that students are actively working on farm or in a related industry during their studies to enable them to take advantage of the full learning opportunities. Students undertaking this course should allow a minimum of 10 hours per week of self paced study over the 37 weeks of the course and above scheduled course time to be successful

Limitations to course Entry:

Students must have access to a reliable internet connection that will support video conferencing.
Students must have access to a computer or tablet that will support course work to be completed in our learning Management System Moodle.This also needs to include a headset (integrated microphone and earphones).

VET Student Loans

VET Student Loans are available to assist eligible students studying higher level vocational education and training (VET) qualifications to pay their tuition fees. Higher level VET qualifications are at those at a Diploma level and above. VET Student loans are capped at a maximum for each approved course of study and the amount of the loan cannot be greater than your remaining FEE-HELP balance.
