About this course

Designed to re-engage you into learning, this course focuses on developing your reading and writing skills for paper based and web-based text types, to assist you with interpreting everyday texts.
This course also focuses on developing your mathematical knowledge so that you are able to apply these skills in everyday life situations. During the course, you will also be assisted with planning and developing your learning goals.

Our Certificate I in General Education for Adults (Introductory) supports you with basic literacy, maths and general education skills to access further study or employment. You'll get the skills to document your learning and implement steps to reach your chosen goals.
Our teachers will be there to support and guide you through your entire learning journey, making you feel confident and comfortable to take those next steps.

A computer will be provided for research activities and IT skill development.

Students will learn:
The importance of documenting their learning to support their chosen goals
To develop, implement and review learning goals for the future
To read, interpret and evaluate familiar paper and web-based texts
To create a range of familiar and some less familiar texts with some specialised vocabulary and spelling
To interpret, estimate and calculate a range of simple numerical information for personal purposes such as budgeting, financial planning and maths for general living.
To use paper and web based mediums to engage with and create texts of limited complexity.
