Our scholarships have closed for 2020, but never fear, because we’ve searched the internet high and low to compile all the scholarships that a bunch of external organisations are offering that might be suitable to you.

Hopefully you can find something that might interest you.

We’ve provided as much detail as possible for each scholarship, but it’ll be best to reach out to the organisations directly if you’ve got any further questions.

DHHS Student Scholarship Program (Kids under cover)

Amount: $1,100

Fund used for: Text books, computers/laptops, IT equipment, public transport, uniform and more

Eligibility

  • Under 21 years old at 1 February 2021
  • Studying years 11 or 12 at a Victorian Government school or the equivalent at TAFE in 2021
  • Having support from a staff member like a counsellor or a wellbeing coordinator.

Rural and Regional Enterprise Scholarships Program

Amount: Funding up to $18,000

Fund used for: Financial costs of attending their institution

Eligibility

  • Be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, holder of a permanent humanitarian visa
  • Have commenced the first year of their Eligible Course of Study in Semester 1 of 2020 and be continuing in Semester 2 of 2020 or;
  • Be about to commence the first year of their Eligible Course of Study in Semester 2 of 2020.
  • Have your permanent home address in a regional or remote area

Rural Chances Vocational scholarship

Amount: Up to $2000

Fund used for: Equipment, course fees, tools of trade, travel costs, materials, etc.

Eligibility

  • Be 16-24 years of age;
  • Hold a current Centrelink health care card, or can provide evidence of significant financial hardship;
  • Identify a TAFE qualification (Certificate III or above) they would like to enrol in or are enrolled in OR an apprenticeship they would like to undertake;
  • Be planning to train in a skill area where there are skills shortages in rural/regional Victoria;
  • Be willing to have a mentor supporting their learning;
  • Be willing to be accountable for the use of scholarship funds;
  • Be willing to participate in publicity/promotional material and research.

The Pinnacle foundation

Amount: Up to $5000

  • Young LGBTIQ+ 17 to 26 years

AVCAT Scholarship

Amount: Up to $3000–$5000

Eligibility

  • Be the child or grandchild as defined by AVCAT's Constitution studying full-time (face-to-face or online) at an Australian University, TAFE or registered training institution, achieving satisfactory academic progress (at least 50% in each subject) receiving fulltime, means tested educational benefits.

Vision Australia Further Education Bursary

Fund used for: The bursaries provide adaptive technology to help the students fully participate and succeed in their chosen studies.

Eligibility

  • Be or become, a client of Vision Australia
  • Have a current (within the last 12 months) eye report on file with Vision Australia
  • Be an Australian citizen or permanent resident
  • Be living or moving to Australia
  • Be enrolling to study at an institution in Australia
  • Be enrolling to study in at least Certificate IV or higher accredited courses including undergraduate and postgraduate degrees (not a Foundation or Enabling course) at the start of the year or be already enrolled in such a course. The course must have a minimum 12 months remaining from January 2021 for those already enrolled
  • Be willing to be involved in publicity events and provide feedback and updated on their academic progress.

Australian Disability and Indigenous Peoples' Education Fund

Amount: $2500

Fund used for: To assist people with disabilities to continue their learning.

Eligibility

  • People with disabilities of any age living in Australia may apply for any assistance to help with both formal and informal education

Freemasons Foundation Education Bursary

Fund used for: The purpose of an Education Bursary is to provide support to Post-Secondary students undertaking their first Tertiary Course who require financial assistance with their studies.

Eligibility

  • An Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident of Australia domiciled in Victoria;
  • Low socio-econimic status background; or
  • Demonstrated financial need. Student must be able to demonstrate financial need and be able to provide supporting documentation and evidence at the time of application. For example, Commonwealth income support payments such as Youth Allowance, Austudy or the necessity to relocate to undertake their chosen course of study.
  • Satisfactory academic merit.

Lorraine Bartling OAM Scholarship in Nursing or Social Work Guidelines (Latrobe City Trust)

Amount: $500

Fund used for: Assist with the further development of the applicant’s skills or qualifications.

Eligibility

  • Applicants will have completed at least the first two years of a university or TAFE nursing or social work orientated degree course and will be continuing with either full-time or part-time studies to complete their qualification and/or undertake post-graduate studies.

Eva West Memorial Scholarship Fund Guidelines (Latrobe City Trust)

Amount: $3000

Eligibility

  • Studied year 12 the previous year.
  • Be a female student attending a State secondary school within Latrobe City Council municipality;
  • Be students pursuing accounting or business-related tertiary studies and;
  • Intend to undertake a minimum of two years full time study in a relevant discipline at any university or TAFE institution.

Young Carer Bursary

Amount: $3000

Fund used for: School fees, laptops and software, uniforms, transport and accommodation, respite care, emotional support, and extracurricular activities.

Eligibility

To apply you must be a young carer:

  • Aged 12 - 25 years old for the entire time you're receiving the bursary studying at high school level or beyond, up to and including your first undergraduate degree
  • An Australian citizen or permanent resident not receiving another scholarship

Community Bank scholarships

Fund used for: Accommodation, study resources

Eligibility

  • Study is undertaken at a TAFE institute in an approved Australian course at the level of:
  • Full-time or competency-based completion (Apprenticeships)
  • Certificate I, II, III or IV, or
  • Diploma, Advanced Diploma or Associate degree
  • The TAFE course must be of at least 10 weeks’ duration for full time study (or the part time equivalent).
  • You can be studying on campus and/or off campus (including online) and can be studying on a full-time or part-time basis
