Studying can be a rollercoaster, no matter what subject you choose. But hair we are with a qualified hairdresser that is dyeing to take on the world with her new skills thanks to TAFE Gippsland.
Student Logan Curran commenced her Certificate III in Hairdressing at TAFE Gippsland’s Traralgon campus in 2018, after completing a Certificate II in Salon Assistant in 2017, with the goal of becoming a hairdresser. And rest a-sheared she has achieved her goal.
“After many ups and downs throughout the last three years, I have finally completed my apprenticeship and couldn’t be prouder of myself,’ Logan said.
Logan is now a qualified hairdresser and works as a senior stylist at Hair and Makeup by Joey in Trafalgar.
Joey Jeremiah, salon owner, thinks Logan is a cut above the rest at her salon.
“As my first apprentice to qualify through our growing business, Logan has outshone herself bringing excitement back into the industry,” Joey said.
“She battled a few ups and downs but she has never given up. Logan approached me three times for a position and by the last time I thought we best give her a go! I am glad that we did as she has been a sponge for learning new things and is always keen to try”.
In return Logan has really gelled with Joey.
“I can’t thank my boss, Joey, enough. The amount I have learnt from her in such little time is amazing. I appreciate absolutely everything she has done for me and my career,” Logan said.
Logan’s family have been a big part of her new career by helping with everything from being her taxi, pushing her to complete her studies, and most importantly being the best hair models a hairdressing student could ask for.
Kristine Sapkin, Hairdressing Teacher, was blown away by Logan’s strengths.
“Logan has so many obstacles to cross during her path to completing her apprenticeship but always managed to remain focused and see the bigger picture of being a qualified hairdresser,” Kristine said.
“She always showed good skills in class and I am sure she will continue to develop even more skills and build a large clientele in her role at Hair and Makeup by Joey.”
