
Bricklaying teacher Glen Clarke doesn’t muck about when it comes to setting his students up for success at TAFE Gippsland.
“I make sure my apprentices are building solid, practical skills from day one,” Glen said.
A qualified bricklayer with more than 14 years of industry experience across residential and commercial sites, Glen ensures his training reflects real site expectations. His focus is on developing confident, capable apprentices equipped for long-term success in the trade.
Over the past five years at TAFE Gippsland, Glen has contributed to the development and rollout of tailored bricklaying training, helping students transition into apprenticeships and secure meaningful employment. He maintains strong relationships with employers, keeping them informed about apprentice progress and adapting training to suit workplace needs.
“I keep employers updated on apprentice progress and site readiness and adapt training to suit each workplace,” Glen said.
“I’ve also implemented several successful student bricklaying projects across both pre-app and apprenticeship programs.”
