New security course taught in classroom at the Yallourn campus

TAFE Gippsland’s new Certificate II in Security Operations is up and running.

The Cert II course is being taught at Yallourn campus on a full time basis over 20 days (four weeks).

According to Program Manager, Hospitality, Tourism and Events, Paul Clerks, the course will be under the watchful eye of experienced trainer, Sean Graydon.

“TAFE Gippsland is very fortunate to employ a Security Trainer like Sean Graydon who is a fantastic man with a wealth of knowledge in the security field,” Paul said.

“Sean has worked tirelessly with the team to get our first course up and running in early February, and this has process has been roughly 18 months in the making.”

Sean himself is very pleased with the achievement of finally getting this new TAFE training course off the ground in Gippsland.

“With all the issues we faced establishing this course and all the challenges Gippsland has faced over the past 12 months, getting this course up and running gives me a great sense of pride that I’m a part of TAFE Gippsland’s commitment to broadening and developing skills in the region,” Sean said.

Sean operates at the Yallourn Campus full time and his first student group have kicked off on their four week study period.

The course is supported by the Federal Government’s Job Trainer initiative where eligible students are only required to pay 20% of the course fee.
