Young student peering over book

So, it’s been exactly one month since you received your ATAR. First things first – don’t panic!

Even if you didn’t receive the ATAR you expected, there are many other options for you to get where you want to go. So take a breath and read on to find out more about your options for the year ahead…

Benefits of studying at TAFE

Remember, you don’t need an ATAR to study at TAFE.

Yep, you read that correctly – a big benefit of studying at TAFE means you don’t need an ATAR score.

What else?

A 2017 report by the Skilling Australian Foundation found that the median full-time income for a VET graduate is $56,000, compared to $54,000 for a university graduate. Go on to study at Uni if that’s your plan, but just so you know, you won’t be falling short financially if you decide on choosing TAFE.

Want more? Here goes. Nine of the top ten occupations predicted to have the most job growth in the next five years are in TAFE trained jobs. If that’s not incentive enough to study at TAFE, we don’t know what is!

Use TAFE a steppingstone to Uni

We don’t mind being used. As long as it’s for the greater good!

So, if it's your goal is to get into university, studying at TAFE means that you can use your course as a pathway into certain degrees.

Our partnership with Federation University Australia means in some areas, you will graduate TAFE with guaranteed credits for the relevant FedUni bachelor degree. So go on. Treat us as your steppingstone. We really don’t mind!

Apply for a scholarship

There’s a range of scholarship available when you study at TAFE, for whatever stage of life you’re at.
