Course Overview

Are you a leader in the community services industry? Take your career even further with a qualification that will teach you the most effective ways to manage and coordinate small organisations or departments within large organisations. Potential management roles will see you planning and monitoring how a service is delivered, recruiting and managing workers, mitigating risks and contributing to the betterment of your wider community.

As you become more confident and skilled in management, you’ll be able to offer day-to-day support to individuals within your community, implementing specifically designed programs that drastically improve lives. You’ll experience dynamic work days as you provide advocacy, support and interventions to a huge range of people. You’ll supervise other workers and volunteers while directly managing large-scale programs and services.

Study online and complete workplace assignments, assessments, portfolios of evidence, interactive online sessions, forums and community practices. The best part about this qualification is being able to directly apply what you learn to your current workplace.

You will have the opportunity to channel your energy into specific projects or manage broader community-based organisations, social housing services, early childhood services, not-for-profit organisations or community centres. If you’re already working in the sector and would like to take on further leadership duties, this diploma will take you there.

Online through moodle theory and resources. Students must be currently working in the sector with the ability to undertake leadership duties and thus use 3rd party reporting as evidence. Workplace assignments, workplace assessment, portfolios of evidence, interactive sessions using a range of media (Skype, Zoom and Collaborate), forums and communities of practice.

This course is delivered with a combination of online and on campus workshops.
