About this Event
As part of National Science Week, the Gippsland Tech School is hosting a range of activities and presentations from Monday 12th August to Thursday 15th August.
Do you love science? Curious minds and budding scientists have an opportunity to get involved with Hydrogen & Carbon focused experiments and fun activities.
With activities for the whole family ranging from Virtual Reality experiences, a seismometer machine, a hologram and a heap of experiments that help to explain both ‘how?’ and ‘why?’ stuff happens. Big kids can check out the Toyota Mirai, a Hydrogen car that will be on site and CSIRO’s Saildrone, an automated wind-powered ocean drone that is used for autonomous data collection in the harshest ocean environments. There will also be free Hydrogen cupcakes if you get in quick and a sausage sizzle – using a Hydrogen BBQ of course.Come and meet real scientists, including Victoria’s Lead Scientist, Amanda Caples, along with scientists from the CSIRO, GeoScience Australia, CO2CRC, the Global Carbon Capture and Storage Institute, the University of Melbourne and the University of Wollongong.
